Photoshop tip: Turn daytime into night-time
What happens when Photoshop swoops off into the night…

PHOTOSHOP IS WELL known for its entertaining effects, and here we’ll reveal another: turning daytime photographic images into that of night-time. This can be done quite simply using Adobe Photoshop’s powerful Blend Mode science.
Start by opening your selected image, and set your Image Mode to 32 bits from the Image>Mode option. Next, select Create New Fill or Adjustment Layer, choosing Solid Color from the options. Select a dark blue tone, according to what the darkest shadow should look like if it were a night-time image.
Click OK and then add a Multiply Blend Mode to this layer. Now, in the same options as before, select Exposure, making sure this is dropped below the Solid layer before applying the following effects. Inside the Exposure dialog box, raise your Exposure level to between three and five, dependent on effects. You may feel you need to up your Gamma Correction, but by no more than three. The effects should suffice as a base, and with a little attention paid to Layer Mask functions and added effects, you can transform your image.
