Web Designer now on the iPadIt’s here, not only can you luckly people get Web Designer on the iPhone, but it is now available for the iPad.

Released only days ago, iPad owners can now download the Web Designer app direct from the App Store. A bigger and better on-screen experience makes the transition from print to screen almost seamless. It’s almost as if Web Designer and the iPad were made for each other.

Buy the iPad app for a mere £1.19 and get the latest issue free. Get back issues for the VFM price of £2.99 and carry your collection with you. It’s not to be missed and you can get it by following this iTunes link

It’d be helpful to have a link to the app from the article so that we can go right to it.

I’m excited about this app… but it is REALLY buggy and sluggish right now. Hopefully they’ll get it fixed soon. When scrolling through several pages kinda fast it crashes almost every time. Also double-tap to zoom-in / zoom-out is ultra slow taking 2-4 seconds for a page to zoom. If they can work out some of these bugs I’ll definitely be doing a year subscription. I’m gonna hold off until they do though… it is unbearably buggy at the moment.

      Looking forward to an update.

What is the cost of each magazine after the purchase of the app?

The App crashes all the time when we flip through pages.
      3 out of 5 times.

Can I also view the mags I download on my iPhone on the iPad? Or do I need to buy it twice (which wouldn’t be so cool!)? PS Also seems a little unstable at the moment – at least on the iPhone. Looking forward to the next update. Thanks, Brian

Awesome. I’ve been waiting for something like this… Cost is low, content is immediately available. I can download back issues. Wow, this is fantastic. I was on the fence due to the limitations of the iPad system, (read locked down proprietary Apple standards) but seriously your magazine is reason enough.
I’ve got to mention that a subscription based online format with download-able content and media for your publication would be the most sensible way to build your brand. So why limit it to just the ipad? You realize that their market share is inherently limited compared to Android. Your content defines you more like Lynda.com than GQ so why not push it as such. Offer the magazine but offer a pdf and online (CD) content access subscription. I’d rather have access to online content than a printed text for search and accessibility anyway.
Anyway keep up the excellent work.

Just downloaded the update. But whenever I launch the app, it instantly quits.

PixelMags needs to do some more QA before they release updates.

This is great! Yeah, what’s the cost per issue? And might you share the content of the CD-ROM’s online somewhere? Thanks a million! Love the mag!

I’ve just purchased this app, can someone explain why a 12 month subscription is more than twice the cost of a 6 month subscription?

    • Mark said:

Few questions about this app before I buy it, do you have access to the cd anywhere online? Is the application stable now as I can see a few posts about that issue. Thanks.

Pls, Pls, can we have a preview feature. I’m tempted to buy some of the back issues I’ve missed, but not with out a preview feature.

Also sometimes the interface is a bit sluggish, that aside, great app.

This is the worst App I ever seen in my life! Dont waste your money. For gods sake atleast allow the user to download the bloody magazine. I want my money back!

dam app crashes as soon as I open it. needs to be fixed!

so i paid for a full year subscription and the last 3 issues I can’t even view because the app crashes on start up. their solution to try to fix was to restore my ipap and try to install again.

I have so many settings on various apps that the logistics of that are not a realistic request from a company that I have paid money to for a service that is to have a stable delivery system for their content.

they assured me a fix was on the way but when that will be… time will tell…

its too bad because the most important part of this magazine (the content) is really good.. but doesn’t do much good if I can’t even view it.

I impatiently check for an update allll the time. for a company who’s main topic in their magazine is all about web development, the irony that their app crashes on start up ALLL the time! for me is not lost on me.

Please fix the app! or offer pdf versions of the mag to the users… something… refund!?

Like the other commentors, my app crashes all the time. The app starts and crashes two seconds later. How embarrassing for a development magazine!!!!

I also have got the app. Was looking forward to flicking through the magazine, only to not even be able to load the app. Are the comments here for us to talk to each other or is someone going to pay some attention to the problems we are having! There are people complaining of this problem as far back as May. Sort it out, or give me my money back!

I purchased the iPad app and am wrapped. Is there any way to get the issues I purchased onto my MacBook Pro?
