This is a whole lot of awesome for those of us in Australia. In the past we’ve waited 3 months before the print edition turned up in our newsagencies. This past weekend I went in search of something to read, not one newsagency had a copy of WebDesigner (or any other web oriented magazine for that matter). I was surfing the web during my lunch break today when I decided to check if the mag was still going, thankfully it was, but more thankfully was the fact that I could get the current edition digitally. Thanks heaps, no more waiting, and no more being disappointed that I couldn’t get a copy. Keep up the great work!

Great app but I feel a little misled. The article in the latest issue (168) states “With the app installed users can download and purchase any digital version of their favourite Imagine magazine for a mere £1.19.” This makes it sound like the issues cost £1.19 from the app when in fact it’s the app that costs this much and the issues are £2.99.

Other than that small complaint, I do love the app and will be using it to purchase the mag from now on. Less paper waste is always a good thing. :)

I heard about the app while listening to the podcast on my way to work the other day, and downloaded it when I got home that evening. I’ve read most of issue #168 already. Great stuff.

The instant delivery is especially great, since like other international readers there’s usually a delay before we get the print edition here in Canada.

My only real complaints are that the small screen size makes the tutorials a bit hard to follow, and it can be slow to respond (and sometimes not respond at all) when flicking pages, zooming, etc. But at CDN$4.99 an issue I can deal with it.

Overall it’s a handy app and I’ll be using it to purchase future issues for sure. :)
