Smartphones and tablets are now as popular as the desktop for web browsing. A web site needs to be all-screen, all-resolution friendly to truly compete. No longer can a designer or developer add a device-width in the head of the page and make do. A site needs to operate well on all levels and devices. Users expect the same, or at a least similar, experience from wherever they are accessing a web site.
