Where did all the Phileas Fogg tortilla chips go?

For the last couple of years i’ve been desperately trying to hunt down a bag of those extra-special Phileas Fogg tortilla chips

For the last couple of years i’ve been desperately trying to hunt down a bag of those extra-special Phileas Fogg tortilla chips. Does anyone know what happened to them? I’ve got such fond memories of them from being a kid, and they are, quite simply, the best tasting tortilla chips. Ever. Doritos? Pah!

Help us out – Phileas Fogg tortilla chips are to the Web Designer team what Spinach is to Popeye, rage to the Hulk! ;)

I’ve just written to United biscuits and asked if i can buy some devilishly hot tortilla chips from them in bulk, all of the range of chips are still available in Ireland, they aren’t sold in the UK because of the GM laws. I personally dont care about GM laws and just want some of these tortilla chips again!!! Badly.

hi i recently took my my desire to see the old phileas fogg flavours reappear, to united biscuits, who purchased the brand name from derwent valley, and are thus responsible for the new flavours. i was soon after invited to join their snack development community ’snackrs’. there i have started a forum on the topic. only one response so far, however it is positive, and i do hope more will follow, that united biscuits will at least ‘have a try’ at bringing them back. if it is true, that old ingredients are now banned, i am sure alternatives can be found. of course it would be worth the effort. i will try the other snacks suggested, but i do feel like that nothing will compare to opening a charismatic, flavoursome packet, of Phileas Fogg. if anyone has any suggesyions, of snacks available at present, especially true ‘chilli hot’ crisps/tortillas, mignons, and california corn chips… na.th.an@live.co.uk many thanks and good luck all!!

Completely agree. Doritos are a poor alternative. I agree that Gm is the first step on the slippery slope to armegeddon but am fed up with paying 2 quid for sub-quality snacks to dunk in my taramasalata in!

Ah! Californian Corn Chips. They were the ultimate. I have spent months desperately searching for any of the fine range of Phileas Fogg snacks, but here in Lancaster, we appear to have a Fogg-free zone. Anyone know a haven of these authentic tastes from around the world in Lancashire?

I live near to the factory – i bought 3 large boxes of the fiendish favourites a few years ago. I messaged them today – lots of lines have been deleted, including the Devilishly hot tortillas :(

I may have found an alternative. There is a brand called Poco Loco which I stumbled across accidently in the local pound shop whose Chilli flavour tortilla chips taste very similar to what I remember Phileas Fogg’s original tortilla chips tasting like. I definitely recommend you try them and see if you agree! I just bought a box of them from Amazon as the punod shop has stopped stocking them…

I remember Phileas Fogg from when I was a kid and my mum would buy the really hot corn tortilla chips. They were so good. I thought I’d found them in M&S but they just weren’t as nice. Such a shame they disappeared. I always wondered if Phileas would bring those back. Funny enough, I was in Sainsbury’s and I saw Phileas Fogg! Looks like they’ve had a make over with products I haven’t seen before such as taco rolls and bubble chips. They were on offer so I gave them a go and they didn’t disappoint! The flavour was so good and knock the pants off other crisps!!

Phileas Fogg Tortillas were the absolute best – I agree with all thats said here about Doritos, poor substitute. Come on United Biscuits, get your act together….
