Q4 We notice on your online About page that you offer services in iPhone application development. Is this a new addition to what you do and have you had any notable forays into this arena so far?

iPhone application development, or really mobile app development in general, is a relatively new area for us at Carousel30. We do have a few mobile versions of websites that we have produced and a couple proof of concept iPhone apps that show what we’re capable of and I believe that the iPhone, or really smartphones in general, offer tremendous opportunities for marketers and the advent of the new generation of tablets like the iPad offer even more exciting possibilities with the combination of a larger display size and the App Store model.
Unfortunately, I have a couple NDAs that won’t let me tell you about the REALLY cool mobile stuff that we’re currently working on, but I can say that we do have a couple projects in the works. Honestly, we’ve been a little slow to move in the mobile space, simply because we’re reluctant to ‘push’ something, albeit something very cool, on our clients without a solid reason and plan for return on investment. Therefore, we probably even missed a couple opportunities to upsell a client on an iPhone app, but all in good time. I do see tremendous potential in the mobile marketing arena and it is already one of our focuses for 2010.
