Carlos Ulloa talks 2010 with Web Designer

by Steve Jenkins

carlosulloaSMALLIn 2010 I’m looking forward to see interactive 3D on the web reach tipping point. During the past three years we have seen great examples of interactive 3D, for web design as well as for everything else -from the iPhone to game consoles or the browser, from the Wiimote to the touchscreen or the upcoming project Natal, augmented reality, even films and TV are reinventing themselves with new 3D technology. Thanks to the many 3D tools and technologies available to developers today, I am sure we can expect increasingly better interactive 3D content on the web, and I hope it will reach its maturity and help to blur the boundaries between the different platforms. I am particularly looking forward to the developments of two of my favourite technologies, Papervision3D and Unity.

I hope to see great PV3D sites, taking full advantage of the strenghts of Flash. And I am enthusiastic about the growth of the Unity plugin, since it allows us to do things that other technologies can’t offer.

I really disagree this idea… The future of webdesign is not more design. The future is based on the structure of the information, and design in simplicity. That’s the next.

Obviously some sites will keep technologies like flash, because doesn’t need search engine visitors. But these is a great mistake.

Besides will be new technologies that mix design and SEO…
