Apple delay iPad global launch

Cupertino cannot keep up with US demand, so everyone else must wait say Apple

The worldwide iPad launch has been postponed by another month it was announced today. Apple have blamed the “unexpectedly high demand” for units in the wake of the US rollout, culminating in a pretty impressive 500,000 iPads already shipped in the first week.

Fervent customers in the UK and Europe will have to wait until the end of next month, with preorders being accepted from May 10th…

Are you desperate to get an iPad once it hits the UK or have you taken delivery of a US unit already?

Ok so I have an iPhone, so do I really need an iPad? They look lovely and I’m already feeling slightly convinced I should have one in my life… but then surely it’s £400 I can put towards a brand new iMac.

      Decisions, decisions people… :D

I am fighting the same urges, I feel like I need one to join in with all the iPad debating, it seems strange always talking about something i’ve never experienced! I think I am going to wait for the second generation iPad, i think its a cracking piece of kit but at the moment I dont really have much use for one. The iMacs are beautiful so I’m thinking maybe save for your iMac!

Well this is it, Apple’s ‘black art’ of convincing us we need these lovely bits of kit regardless of how practically useful they are to our lives.
I am lucky enough to have an iPhone which I do love, but could I operate and function as a happy human being without it… Erm, YEAH!
However at the time before I bought it it felt wholly necessary to my existence. Bar a few apps like Guitar Toolkit, Flight Control etc I don’t go much further than surfing the web on Safari and grabbing my emails.

Seems silly to merely buy a bigger handset for home use, when a spanking new iMac will get much more productive use. Ok, that’s that decided :D

Sometimes you just need to have these completely pointless bits of kit because as a techy person thats what interests you. I suppose thats it right there, Apple make you feel like you not only ‘want’ something but you literallu ‘need’ to have it. Luckily i’ve never used an iPad because I fear if I had I would be too tempted to buy something, which would be great for the first month or so and then the novelty would wear off and it would get put to the side. I also have an iPhone which I do love, but as a PHONE is it really the best? Probably not. I do find some applications useful though but I don’t use them on a day to day basis. I have a nightmare with the touch screen keyboards, my texts are regularly like a chunk of encrypted code with seemingly random letters, spaces and numbers everywhere! E-mail on my iPhone is without a doubt the most useful thing.

It does seem silly to buy a bigger iPhone for at home but you still want one so much though don’t you! I think the iMac is the better option though because you will get so much more use out of it and it won’t get put to the side after a few months.

Hm, I am ok with this but nevertheless not utterly convinced, therefore i am about to research a little bit more.
